63rd CAVE DEGREE CEREMONIAL - September 5, 2009

The 2009 Cave Degree Ceremonial will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009.  We will again be conferring the Initiatory and First Degrees in the Yreka Lodge Hall on Saturday afternoon, the Second Degree at the Cave by moonlight, and, for the second time, we will be conferring the Third Degree in the Lodge Hall on Sunday morning, when we finish serving the usual breakfast, at about 8:30 AM.
The Initiatory Degree will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday afternoon, followed by the First Degree at about 2:30 PM.  The Second Degree will begin at 8:00 PM in the Cave, southwest of Yreka.  Moonrise will be about 8:10 PM.
We will be serving the usual catered dinner Saturday evening in the Lodge Hall, starting at 5:30 PM.  It will conclude in time for attendees to catch the bus to the Cave, which will depart at 7:00 PM.  The price of the dinner will be $18.00 per person.  Send Reservations and payment, no later than August 10, 2009, to Yreka Lodge # 19, PO Box 445, Yreka, CA 96097.  The breakfast on Sunday morning, for a free will offering, will be served by members and Cave Associate members of Yreka Lodge #19, beginning at 7:00 AM.
The Headquarters hotel will be the Miner's Inn (Best Western.)  Phone 1-800-444-1320.  Alternatives are the AmeriHost Inn, phone 1-530-841-1300, Motel 6, phone 1-800-466-8356, and Holiday Inn Express, phone 1 888 HOLIDAY (888 465 4329).  We recommend making reservations early, as there is also a “biker” rally in Yreka that weekend.
All three of the Degrees will be conferred by the Degree Staff from Sacramento Lodge #2, with Past Grand Master Gene Rasor as Acting Noble Grand.  Deputy Grand Master Gene Breeland will be Degree Captain for the first three Degrees.  Gene Rasor will captain the Third Degree
We invite Lodges from all over California, Oregon, and elsewhere to bring their candidates.  Please send a letter to the Lodge naming the candidates and the degree(s) for which they are qualified, or bring it with the candidate to the Ceremonial.
We regret that this date may conflict with other plans people may have for Labor Day weekend, but we are tied to the phases of the moon.
