EARLY ODD FELLOW ROSE PARADE FLOAT
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows probably holds a record of having a float in the Tournament of Roses parade longer than any other fraternal or service organization. The first Odd Fellow entry, shown here, appeared in the Rose parade back in 1908. IOOF floats also appeared in the 1909 and 1910 parades. The Three Link Fraternity again appeared in the annual event starting in 1955, and since then it has continuously been represented in the parade taking many trophies. Some of the trophies were the Grand Marshal's trophy (Most creative design in 1964; Theme trophy (Best presentation of Rose Parade Theme) in 1970, 1972 and 1982; Tournament Special trophy in 1986; Isabella Coleman trophy (Best presentation of color and color harmony) in 1998; and Princess trophy (Most beautiful entry under 35 feet in length) in 1991, 1993 and 2000.
